Introduction

Issues that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • When you try to open a form in InfoPath 2003, the form may take longer to open than expected. This behavior may occur if the form contains many managed code event handlers.
  • If you programmatically close the task pane in InfoPath 2003 when the cursor is inside a text box, you cannot move the cursor by using the keyboard. Additionally, you cannot move the cursor by pressing BACKSPACE to delete the character that is before the cursor in the text box.
  • In InfoPath 2003, when you try to insert a new node before an existing node on a form that uses choice groups and repeating sections, the new node is inserted after the existing node.
  • You create a form that contains a text box that has leading spaces before the text in InfoPath 2003. Every time that you click outside the text box, one of the leading spaces before the text is deleted. This behavior occurs if you click to select the Paragraph breaks check box. The Paragraph breaks check box is located on the Display tab in the Text Box Properties dialog box.
  • You right-click after the end of a line of text inside a Rich Text Box control in an InfoPath 2003 form. If the last character in the line of text has formatting applied, such as bold, underline, or italic formatting, all shortcut menu items are unavailable (dimmed).
  • You use the User Roles feature in InfoPath 2003 to add user names to a form. However, users who belong to a different domain do not appear in the Select Users dialog box when you try to add user names to the form.
  • In Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 Service Pack 1 or in InfoPath 2003 Service Pack 2, when the decimal and thousands separators in the control panel differ from the default settings of the current locale, you cannot insert controls into a form.
  • When you open a form that performs certain calculations when the form opens in InfoPath 2003, the form takes longer to open than expected.
  • When you try to open a form that performs many calculations when the form opens in InfoPath 2003, the form does not open. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
InfoPath cannot create a new, blank form. There was an error in the custom validation code.

Error details: Recursion too deep; the stack overflowed.
Note If you try to open the form in design mode, the form opens as expected.
  • When you try to open a managed code solution that contains validation events that occur when the solution is opened in InfoPath 2003, the validation events do not occur as expected.
