To work around this behavior, select the solid, gradient, texture, or picture to fill the currently selected shape. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click the shape to which you want to apply a fill.
- Right-click the shape, and then click Format AutoShape.
- On the Fill tab, perform one of the following actions.
Note Do not click to select the check box that is associated with the text in the following list. The check box is automatically selected after you make the appropriate selections.- Click Solid, and then click the color to fill the shape.
- Click Gradient, and then configure the options for the gradient to fill the shape.
- Click Texture or Picture, and then click one of the following to apply the texture or the picture to fill the shape:
- Select File
- Select from ClipArt
- Copy from Clipboard
- Click Close to close the Format Object dialog box.
