Consider the following scenario. You run the IIS Lockdown
Tool and the URLScan tool on a computer that is running Microsoft Internet
Information Services (IIS) 5.0. Additionally, the computer is running either
FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions from Microsoft or FrontPage 2000 Server
Extensions from Microsoft. After you run the IIS Lockdown Tool and the URLScan
tool, you use Internet Services Manager to create a new Web site. However, when
you try to enable Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions on the Web site, you
experience the following symptoms:
- If you right-click the Web site, and then point to
All Tasks, the Configure Server Extensions
command is missing from the submenu. Only the Permissions
Wizard command appears in the submenu. Therefore, you cannot enable
FrontPage Server Extensions for the Web site.
- If you view the properties of the Web site, the
Server Extensions tab is missing from the
VirtualServerName Properties dialog
box.
You do not experience these symptoms on existing Web sites that
you created before you ran the IIS Lockdown Tool and the URLScan tool.
