The Information Store service stops responding after you install a hotfix in Exchange 2000 Server

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. You install the hotfix that is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article on a server that is running Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server:
889006� Users experience a slow response from an Exchange 2000 Server public folder server
Then, multiple users try to access and to modify a single shared calendar at the same time. In this scenario, the Information Store service stops responding on the Exchange 2000 Server server.

Resolution

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server service pack that contains this hotfix.
