Introduction

Microsoft Office 2007, Microsoft Office 2003 and Microsoft Office XP are designed to run on 32-bit versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems. When you run any of these programs on a 64-bit version of a Windows operating system, the program runs in the 32-bit layer of the Windows operating system. Microsoft supports running the versions of Office 2007, Office 2003, and Office XP that are listed in the "More Information" section in the 32-bit layer of 64-bit versions of Windows.

More information

The following Office products were tested on Microsoft Windows XP x64 Edition and on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 x64 Editions:
  • The original release versions of 2007 Microsoft Office suites or later versions of 2007 Office suites
  • Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 1 or later versions of Office 2003
  • Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 3 or later versions of Office XP
Note Microsoft Office 2000 has not been tested on any 64-bit versions of Windows operating systems.

Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003 and Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 both include Business Contact Manager 2003 (BCM). Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager Update is not supported on 64-bit operating systems.
