Symptoms

When you paste a Microsoft Office Excel chart that contains an embedded arrowhead to a Microsoft Office Word document, the appearance of the arrowhead changes in Microsoft Office XP and in Microsoft Office 2003. The arrowhead is reduced from its original size. Also, the arrowhead line is displayed as a thicker line.

Note You may also notice that the same issue occurs when you paste the Excel chart into Microsoft Office Access and Microsoft Office PowerPoint.

Cause

This issue may occur if the arrowhead is directly inserted into the chart.

Workaround

To work around this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Insert the arrowhead outside the chart. Then, move the arrowhead into the chart.
  2. Select both the chart and the arrowhead, and then group them.
