FIX: The ODBC driver for DB2 tries to use the default User ID even if you change the User ID in the Logon dialog box, and the logon fails in Host Integration Server 2000

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

In Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000, the ODBC driver for DB2 tries to use the default User ID when you log on, even if you change the user ID in the Logon dialog box. When this behavior occurs, the logon fails.

Cause

This default behavior prevents the System Data Source Name (DSN) user ID from being updated. A design change was made to let the user ID be updated if no default user is specified in the System DSN. For example, the user ID may be blank. This design change was to remove an additional "test connect".
