This white paper answers three fundamental questions for Internet service providers (ISPs) who want to use Exchange 2000 to provide consumer messaging services based on Internet protocols such as Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), Post Office Protocol 3 (POP3), Internet Message Access Protocol 4 (IMAP4), and HTTP:
  • How many users can be supported on a single Exchange 2000 server?
  • How many servers�including directory servers, front-end protocol servers, and so on�are required to support x number of users?
