FIX: OLE DB Provider for DB2 does not create packages when a stored procedure is called

Symptoms

When an application uses the OLE DB Provider for DB2 (DB2OLEDB) to execute a stored procedure, you may receive the following error message:
A SQL error has occurred. Please consult the documentation for your specific DB2 version for a description of the associated Native Error and SQL State. SQLSTATE: 51002, SQLCODE: -805
This problem may occur under the following circumstances:
  • The call to execute the stored procedure is the first statement that is passed to DB2OLEDB.
  • The packages do not exist on DB2.

Cause

DB2OLEDB does not call the function that is used to dynamically create the DB2 packages when a stored procedure is executed.

Resolution

Service pack information

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Hotfix information

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

This problem was corrected in Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000 Service Pack 2.
