Symptoms

When you close a Microsoft Excel workbook that contains DDE links, you may receive the following error message:
Microsoft Excel has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.

Please tell Microsoft about this problem.

Service Pack Information

Hotfix Information

To resolve this problem, obtain and install the fix that is appropriate for your version of Excel.
