WebDAV Query Responds Incorrectly When You Send a PROPFIND Request

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

When you send a PROPFIND request that contains a custom namespace and a named property to a server that is running Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services, the response is not valid. Windows SharePoint Services combines the custom property with the previous property.

For example, suppose that the PROPFIND request contains the following properties:
<a:isroot />
<b:customtype />

Windows SharePoint Services should return the following results:
<a:isroot />
<b:customtype />

However, Windows SharePoint Services returns the following results:
<D:isroot />
<D:isrootcustomtype />

Cause

The Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) component in Windows SharePoint Services does not currently support PROPFIND on custom properties.
