TN5250 Service Terminates While the Service Tries to Get a Spin Lock

Symptoms

When the Service Control Manager is under stress, you may receive the following error message:
EventID 7031: TN5250 service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this x time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 0 milliseconds: No action.
At the time of the failure, TN5250 internal traces may show that the TN5250 service experienced a timeout error while the service tried to get a spin lock:
TN525 tn5tnstb.c  564: 12:44:01.43 sok_listen_thread               ERROR timeout getting spin lock

Resolution

Service pack information

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Hotfix information

The English version of this fix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.
