Summary

This article lists Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server bugs that have been fixed since the release of Exchange 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP3). Exchange 2000 fixes for a particular component are cumulative and contain all the previous fixes for that component. Fixes with a particular version number contain all the fixes that have an earlier version number.

The March 2003 Exchange 2000 Server Post-Service Pack 3 Rollup was re-released on March 24, 2003 to correct problems with the included Symbol files.

Microsoft scanned this file for viruses. Microsoft used the most current virus-detection software that was available on the date that the file was posted. The file is stored on security-enhanced servers that help to prevent any unauthorized changes to the file.

Prerequisites

If you installed the March 10, 2003 version of this rollup, you must uninstall it before you apply the March 24, 2003 version.

Installation Information

Setup tries to stop the appropriate services so that the installation can conclude without having to restart the system (Setup restarts the services it successfully stopped). However, if a file that is to be replaced is in use, and the service cannot be stopped (for example, by antivirus software), you are prompted to restart your computer at the end of Setup.

This rollup is not supported for installation on a Windows XP-based client with the Microsoft Exchange System Management Tools installed.

File Information

After you apply this rollup, the Application Log may report a different version for a service than what is stated in the table below. This behavior is to be expected. For example, the Microsoft Exchange System Attendant (Mad.exe) may be reported as 6386, the Microsoft Exchange Message Transfer Agent (Emsmta.exe) service may be reported as 6394, and the POP3 and IMAP4 services may be reported as 6389.

The English version of this fix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.
