User can't change permissions on users own calendar

Summary

User gets an error message when trying to change anything on the permissions tab of the users calendar folder from outlook 2007. The error message says that the permissions can't be saved.

Symptoms

At the same time an event is logged in the application log on the Exchange server:

Description:
The mailbox '/O=EXCHANGE/OU=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=User' contains a folder 'Calendar' with a security descriptor that violates the canonical format.

Cause

This is caused by a missing anonymous entry in the permissions list on the calendar folder and most often happens with mailboxes migrated from other mail systems.
