All cross-forest meeting updates have to be accepted again in Exchange Server 2016 and 2013

Symptoms

Assume that a cross-forest meeting is updated between organizations. However, the attendees see the time of the meeting as having changed and have to accept the meeting again. This issue occurs regardless of what is changed on the meeting and exists in both Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 and Exchange Server 2013.

This issue also affects third-party applications that send meetings through the iCalendar standard.

Cause

This issue happens because of the duration property isn't correctly handled during the iCalendar conversation.
