Symptoms

When you try to mount an Exchange 2000 Server information store database, the database may not mount, and an event that is similar to the following event may be logged in the Event Viewer Application log:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: MSExchangeIS
Event Category: General
Event ID: 9519
Computer: ServerName
Description:
Error 0x80040102 starting database "First Storage Group\StoreName(ServerName)" on the Microsoft Exchange Information Store.
Failed to clear Patch Allowed Setting.

Cause

This behavior may occur if the This database can be overwritten by a restore check box is selected for the database that you want to mount.

Resolution

To resolve this behavior, click to clear the This database can be overwritten by a restore check box, and then mount the information store database:
1.Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
2.Expand Servers, expand ServerName, where ServerName is the name of the server, and then expand the appropriate storage group (for example, First Storage Group).
3.Right-click the information store that you want to mount, and then click Properties.
4.Click the Database tab.
5.Click to clear the This database can be overwritten by a restore check box, and then click OK.
6.Mount the store. To do so, right-click the store, and then click Mount Store.
