FIX: Visual Basic Runtime Error When You Test Data in BizTalk Mapper

When you try to test a map in the BizTalk Mapper by using a generated XML instance, you may receive the following error message: This problem can occur when you use multiple concatenation functoids. It can also occur when you use the cumulative concatenation functoids.

The generated XML instance causes the functoids to be called out of order, and causes indexes to be called before they are created.

Hotfix Information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Workaround

To avoid this problem, do not use the Generated XML to XML option in the BizTalk Mapper. Instead, use actual test data.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2002 Service Pack 1.
