XADM: Access Violation Occurs When Exchange Information Store Processes a Message

Symptoms

When the Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server information store processes an inbound Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) e-mail message, an access violation may occur.

If the correct symbols are installed on the computer, the Dr. Watson log or the corresponding User.dmp file contains a call stack similar to the following:

Cause

This problem may occur if one of the recipient addresses on the To: line of the e-mail message cannot be located.
