Symptoms

When you try to create deep links or Microsoft Store App links (including phone) in Configuration Manager by following the steps in How to create and deploy applications for mobile devices in Configuration Manager, the process fails during browsing.

Additionally, the following error message is generated when you click Browse in the Create Application Wizard for a Microsoft Store app:

Cause

This is a known issue that was introduced in recent changes to the Microsoft Store for both phones and Windows workstations. However, a hotfix is available that resolves this issue for Configuration Manager 2012 R2 SP1, Configuration Manager 2012 SP2, Configuration Manager 1511, and Configuration Manager 1606.

Resolution

For Configuration Manager 1606:

Verify that the customer's Configuration Manager environment is updated to build 5.0.8412.1307 or a later build. If not, have them install the 3186654 hotfix from Administration\Overview\Cloud Services\Updates and Servicing on the Configuration Manager console. For information about how to install updates and hotfixes in Configuration Manager 1511 and later versions, point customers to Updates for System Center Configuration Manager.

For older versions of Configuration Manager, see Windows Phone Apps cannot be deployed or added to Allowed Apps or Blocked Apps lists in System Center Configuration Manager to install KB 3081699.

After the hotfix is installed, close all sessions of the System Center Configuration Manager console (including remote), and then restart the console.
