Deprecation of Company Portal apps for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 in September 2016

Summary

Starting in September 2016, Microsoft Intune will deprecate support for the Microsoft Intune Company Portal apps for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. After this change, these versions of Company Portal apps will no longer be supported on any Windows or Windows Phone platforms.

More Information

Microsoft deprecated support for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 on January 12, 2016. Because of this deprecation and rapid customer migration to later platforms, Microsoft Intune is deprecating support for the Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 Company Portal apps across all platforms. Existing app deployment policies will not be affected. Therefore, the version 8 apps on supported devices will continue to work.

For support cases that involve these apps on the Window 8.1 or Windows Phone 8.1 platforms, Microsoft will require that the devices be updated to the latest Windows 8.1 or Windows Phone 8.1 Company Portal apps, and that the issue be reproduced before any troubleshooting is done.

To update the app on the device, you must uninstall the old Windows 8 or Windows Phone 8 Company Portal apps, and then install the latest Windows 8.1 or Windows Phone 8.1 Company Portal apps.

The 8.1 versions of the Company Portal apps are available at the Microsoft Store or from the following Microsoft Download Center pages:
