Symptoms

When you use Microsoft Excel over a server that is running Terminal Services, you can see other users' local printers in your printer list. If you try to print to another user's printer, you receive an error message, and cannot gain access to the printer.

Cause

Excel reads printer information from a part of the registry that lists all printers from all user sessions that currently exist on the server.
