Company Portal apps for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 move to sustaining mode on January 1, 2016

Summary

Beginning January 1, 2016, Microsoft will release only critical security fixes for the Microsoft Intune Company Portal apps for Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8. These apps will continue to be supported on the Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 platforms, respectively.

For support cases that involve these apps on the Window Phone 8.1 or Windows 8.1 platforms, Microsoft will require that the devices be updated to the latest Windows Phone 8.1 /Windows 8.1 Company Portal apps and that the issue be reproduced before troubleshooting proceeds. To update the app on the device, the old Windows 8/Windows Phone 8 Company Portal apps will have to be uninstalled, and the latest Windows 8.1/Windows Phone 8.1 Company Portal apps will have to be installed.
