To work around this problem, follow these steps:
- In Excel 2000, open the workbook from which you want to copy.
- On the File menu, click Page Setup. On the Sheet tab, under Print, click to select the Gridlines check box.
- Select the area that you need to copy, and then click Copy on the Edit menu.
- Start PowerPoint 2000, and open the presentation in which you want to paste the Excel 2000 data.
- Go to the slide in which you want to paste the data.
- On the Edit menu, click Paste Special. In the As list, click Picture (Enhanced Metafile), and then click OK.
- To resize the inserted object, right-click the object, and then click Format Picture on the shortcut menu. Click the Size tab.
- Make sure that the Lock aspect ratio and the Relative to original picture size check boxes are selected.
Use the Height and Width settings under Scale to adjust the scale percentages (each one will automatically adjust to fit the other).
NOTE: The gridlines may vary slightly in Normal view but appear consistent in Slide Show view. The outermost line is slightly thicker, but this behavior is by design, to enhance the look of the presentation.
