Revenue Recognition does not calculate correctly at the task level if there is no contract value or revenue budget for the task

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Project Controller in Microsoft Dynamics SL:

  • You open Project Maintenance (PA.PRJ.00) and create a project with a Rev Rec Type of Percent Complete.
  • You post revenue to this project.
  • In Percent Complete Maintenance (PA.PCM.00) you set up the project to recognize revenue at the task level.
  • You run Revenue Recognition (PA.REV.00) for this project.

When you do this, you notice that the revenue booked to this project is not backed out.  Because the project is 0% complete, the expectation is that the revenue would be backed out, and when revenue recognition is set up at the project level, that is what happens.
