Issues Fixed by the Update

Visual InterDev Creates New Websites in Low Security Context

On Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, if you create a new subweb by using Microsoft Visual InterDev 6.0, it is automatically created as an application. After you upgrade, the new default setting is to run the application out-of-process. This improves security.

Application Root Loses Security Setting After Publish

If you set an application root to run out-of-process, publishing it to a different server does not retain the security setting and demotes the application to run in-process. SR 1.3 allows subwebs to retain their original security settings after publication.

Buffer Overflow in FP4aReg.dll

SR 1.3 corrects a buffer overflow in FP4aReg.dll that allows a long argument to trigger a stack overflow.

Errors When You Save or Open a File from a FrontPage Web

If you have a network policy that redirects the My Documents folder to a network share, FrontPage fails to open and save files to a Web. SR 1.3 corrects this problem.
SR 1.3 also corrects problems where you cannot save a file unless you create a Web after you install the FrontPage Server Extensions or when you save a file to a folder by using a Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path.

MMC Stops Responding if You Click the Server Extensions Tab

If you downloaded security bulletin MS01-035 from the following URL and click the Server Extensions tab in the Internet Information Services Management Console, MMC may stop responding (hang).

SR 1.3 corrects this problem and provides a security fix for the Subcomponent's Unchecked Buffer.

Server Extensions Fail if You Delete a File with a Relative Link

If you delete a file with at least one relative link, you receive errors and the FrontPage Server Extensions stop responding. SR 1.3 corrects this problem.
