FP2002: Navigation Bar Does Not Appear, Error on Server Console

If you view a Web page that contains the VINavBar component in a Web browser, the following message appears on the page: In Microsoft Frontpage 2002, if you click Preview in Browser on the File menu, the following message appears: In some cases, the following error message may appear on the server console:

The VINavBar component is not supported when using the FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions.

Install Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 1 (SP1) on the the server that is running the FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions.

To prevent these errors when you work with or view your Web page, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Create a Navigation Bar Structure in Your FrontPage Web

1. Open your Web page.
2. On the Insert menu, click Navigation.
   
   The Insert Web Component dialog box appears.
3. In the Component type list, click Link Bars. In the Choose a bar type list, click the type of navigation bar you want and click Next.
4. Click Finish.
