Workaround

To work around this problem and reinstall the FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Edit the Windows Registry

WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

The HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\bdeade6d-c265-11d0-bced-00a0c90ab50f registry subkey indicates that either Microsoft Office Server Extensions or SharePoint Portal Server is installed on the computer. To reinstall the FrontPage Server Extensions, you must delete this registry key. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. On the Windows Start menu, click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type Regedit and click OK.
  3. In Registry Editor, click My Computer.
  4. On the Edit menu, click Find.
  5. In the Find what box, type the following:
    bdeade6d-c265-11d0-bced-00a0c90ab50f
NOTE: This entry is located in the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\bdeade6d-c265-11d0-bced-00a0c90ab50f
  6. With the bdeade6d-c265-11d0-bced-00a0c90ab50f key selected, click Export Registry File on the Registry menu.
  7. In the Export Registry File dialog box, name the file with a .reg extension to create a backup copy in case you need to restore the subkey.
  8. With the bdeade6d-c265-11d0-bced-00a0c90ab50f key selected, click Delete on the Edit menu.
  9. On the Registry menu, click Exit.
  10. Reinstall the FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions. For additional information about installing FrontPage Server Extensions, click the article number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
