Duplicate mailbox folders after migration to Exchange Server 2013

Symptoms

After your mailbox is moved to Microsoft Exchange Server 2013, you may have duplicate Exchange folders (such as, Calendar or Contacts) in the mailbox.

Resolution

To avoid folder duplication with future moves,�install the following cumulative update, and then move the mailboxes:�
2961810 Cumulative Update 6 for Exchange Server 2013

Note The created duplicate folders cannot be removed by this update.

Cause

This issue occurs because the EntryID�property of the default folders is lost during the migration. Therefore, Exchange creates a new folder by using the same names.
