Not Read Receipts generated when MRM deletes messages

When the message is marked as read, the message still has the following flags set:

MSGFLAG_READ | MSGFLAG_RN_PENDING | MSGFLAG_NRN_PENDING

When MRM deletes the messages from the archive (or primary), it does not pass the flag DeleteItemFlags.SuppressReadReceipt. Because the flag MSGFLAG_NRN_PENDING is set, a Not Read receipt is generated.

Resolution

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next P1 that contains this hotfix.
