To resolve this problem, run Detect and Repair for Microsoft Office XP. To do this, use either of the following methods.
Method 1: Use the Detect and Repair Command
- Start Excel.
- On the Help menu, click Detect and Repair
- Click Start.
Method 2: Use Add/Remove Programs
NOTE: Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
- In the Currently installed programs list, click Microsoft Office XP or Microsoft Excel 2002, and then click Change.
- Click Repair Office, and then click Next.
- Click Detect and Repair errors in my Office installation, and then click Install.
- When Office XP Setup is complete, click OK.
- In the Add/Remove Programs dialog box, click Close.
