The text that describes the play/pause button is not displayed on the screen in a video call or a video conference in a Japanese, Korean or Chinese version of Lync 2010

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You install an October 2013 cumulative update for a Japanese, Korean or Chinese version of Microsoft Lync 2010. 
  • You make a video call or join a video conference in Lync 2010. 
  • You try to start the video or make the video pause by clicking the play/pause button on the screen. 
In this situation, the text that describes the play/pause button is not displayed on the screen. For example, the following Japanese text is not displayed:

Cause

This issue occurs because the text that describes the play/pause button has the same color as the background. Therefore, you cannot see the text on the screen.

To resolve this issue, install the following cumulative update:
