XL2002: AutoFilter Settings Lost When Worksheet Is Published

Symptoms

When you open a Web page that has been published from a Microsoft Excel worksheet, the data is not filtered, even though the original worksheet has an AutoFilter applied.

Cause

This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
  • You publish to a Web page a list that has an AutoFilter applied.

    -and-

  • In the Publish as Web Page dialog box, you click PivotTable Functionality in the Add interactivity with list.

Workaround

To publish your list and preserve the AutoFilter settings, use the Office Spreadsheet component. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Open the Excel worksheet that was used to publish the Web page.
  2. On the File menu, click Save as Web Page.
  3. In the Save As dialog box, click Publish.
  4. Under Items to publish, click AutoFilter.
  5. Click to select the Add interactivity with check box. In the Add interactivity with list, click Spreadsheet functionality.
  6. Click Publish.
