You receive a "JavaScript error" error message when you click a List View Web component in FrontPage 2002

Symptoms

When you preview a Web page in Microsoft FrontPage 2002 and click a link in a List View Web component, you may receive one of the following error messages:
JavaScript error:
Line 1 Char 25: Object Expected.
-or-
A Runtime Error has occured.
Do you wish to debug?

Line 24
Error: Object Expected.
NOTE: A List View Web component requires that you save the page to a web server that is running SharePoint Team Services from Microsoft.

Cause

These error messages can appear if you have not saved the page. The HTML source code is not completely written to the page until you save the file. Therefore, when you click the link, an error message appears.

Resolution

Save and close the page. Open the page again, and then click Preview at the bottom of the FrontPage window. When you click the link, you do not receive the error messages described in the "Symptoms" section of this article.
