Error message when you try to open a Web on a WebDAV server in FrontPage 2002 or in FrontPage 2003

Symptoms

When you try to open a Web by clicking Open Web on the File menu on a WebDAV server, the following error message appears:
The Web server at "http://servername" does not appear to have the FrontPage server extensions installed.

Cause

The Open Web command opens a Web if the Web server is using FrontPage Server Extensions or is a disk-based Web.

Workaround

To work around this problem, use the Open File command rather than the Open Web command. After you open the file, save it to the server.
