XCCC: Davex "404 Resource Not Found" Error Message with Two or More Virtual Domains

Symptoms

In an Exchange 2000 Server environment in which there are two or more virtual domains that are hosted on a single front-end server/back-end server setup (for this example, www.expedia-1.com and www.expedia-2.com), if a client that is using Microsoft Internet Explorer to gain access to Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA) is communicating with a mailbox on www.expedia-1.com and then switches to a mailbox on www.expedia-2.com, the server may return the following error message:
404 Resource Not Found.
You may be able to press the Refresh button several times in Internet Explorer to display the authentication and login dialog box.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
