Users can see companies at the sign on screen that they cannot log on to or have no rights to

Symptoms

 Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics SL:

  • You create multiple companies in an application database.
  • In Access Rights Maintenance (95.270.00) you grant a user access rights to screens in certain companies, but not in all companies.

When you do this, you notice that if the user opens a possible values window during sign on, they can see a list of all companies. They cannot access screens in a company they have no screen access rights to. However, they can see the company on the possible values list and can log on to that company.

Resolution

Hotfix information for Microsoft Dynamics SL

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
