FP2002: Quick Launch Link Is Not Added via the Add Link Dialog Box

Symptoms

When you add a link to a subweb in the Quick Launch bar of a SharePoint team Web site, or when you add a link to the Custom Link bar of a FrontPage Web with FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions from Microsoft, the link may not appear on the page. The link that is added appears in normal view and in preview, but it does not appear when you actually go to the page by using your browser.

Cause

The Link Bar Properties dialog box is not writing the complete URL of the subweb.

Workaround

To work around this problem, use one of the following methods.

SharePoint Team Web Site

  1. Switch to navigation view in FrontPage.
  2. Right-click the SharePoint Left Quick Launch Navbar page, and then click Add Existing Page.
  3. In the Insert Hyperlink dialog box, type the URL of the subweb.

FrontPage Web

  1. Switch to navigation view in FrontPage.
  2. Right-click Home Page or the page that displays the link bar, and then click Add Existing Page.
  3. Click Current Folder, and then click the subweb or page in the subweb that you want to link to.
