SQL Server Agent does not start after you install Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011

Symptoms

After you install Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 and SQL Server 2008 on the same computer, you notice the SQL Server Agent does not start. You may also see the following error message:

SQLServer Error: 160, Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 193: (SQL Server Native Client 10.0, C:\Windows\SysWOW64\sqlncli10.dll). [SQLSTATE IM003]

Resolution

Download and install the 64bit SQL Server Native Client. This can be downloaded from the following locaiton:

More Information

The issue does not occur with earlier versions of Microsoft Dynamics SL. The issue also does not occur with SQL Server 2008 R2.
