Error message after you add a column and then add a filter to the query in Quick Query in Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 SP1: "QQVIE00.exe has stopped working"

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Quick Query in Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 Service Pack 1:

  • You open Quick Query Viewer (QQ.VIE.00) by using one of the base queries.
  • You right-click the header and then select the Choose Columns option.
  • In the Choose Columns screen, you add a column that is not already included in the base query and then click OK.
  • You click Type to Filter in the upper-right corner of the screen and then enter a value on which to filter the query.

In this scenario, you receive the following error message:

QQVIE00.exe has stopped working

Resolution
