Symptoms

When you try to use the .Formula property of a range of cells to set values in an array with a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications macro, you may receive the following error message:
Run-time error '1004':

Application-defined or object-defined error

Cause

This problem may occur if the list separator for numbers in Regional Options is set to a character other than a comma. For example, when you change the Regional Options to Italian (Italy), the list separator for numbers is a semi-colon.
