Consider the following scenario in a Microsoft Host Integration Server 2009 or Microsoft Host Integration Server 2010 environment:
In this scenario, you may receive the following error message when you click the Connect, Sample Query, or Packages button in the Data Access Tool (DAT) when you create or edit a Microsoft Data Link (.udl) file:
- You use Microsoft OLE DB Provider for DB2 or Microsoft BizTalk Adapter for DB2 to connect to IBM DB2 for z/OS Version 7 or IBM DB2 for z/OS Version 8.
- You apply the update that is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article or any later update for the Host Integration Server 2009 data providers:2538036 FIX: Incorrect data may be inserted into DB2 graphic data types when you use Host Integration Server 2009 data providers
- You apply Microsoft Host Integration Server 2010 Cumulative Update 1 (CU1) that is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:2533330 Cumulative update package 1 for Host Integration Server 2010
