Incorrect power value is required by a telephone that is running Lync 2010 Phone Edition

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a Polycom telephone that is running Microsoft Lync 2010 Phone Edition.
  • The telephone is powered by a Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch that supports Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP).
  • You start the telephone and collect the network trace log of the startup.
In this scenario, the trace log indicates the telephone use LLDP to require 8.2W power value to startup. Additionally, the telephone might not start up.

Note The maximum power value for the telephone to startup is 6.49W.

To resolve this issue, install the following cumulative update:
