"Next Run Time" value of some scheduled tasks is missing after you restart a computer that is running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008

On a computer that is running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, the "Next Run Time" value of some scheduled tasks is empty after you restart the computer. This behavior prevents these scheduled tasks from running as expected. You have to reactivate these tasks manually.

When the Task Scheduler service enumerates all tasks, it unexpectedly exits the loop when it enumerates a task that has corrupted registry keys. Therefore, the remaining tasks in the sequence are not loaded as expected.

After you install this hotfix, the Task Scheduler service will continue with the loop if the service enumerates a corrupted task. This guarantees that all healthy scheduled tasks can be loaded successfully. Additionally, administrators can visit the Task Scheduler window to identify corrupted tasks. If a corrupted task is identified, a pop-up window will display a warning.

Note The corrupted tasks stay corrupted and additional actions have to be done to resolve the corruption. For example, re-creating these tasks.
