INTRODUCTION

Issue that this hotfix package fixes

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You insert a shape into a PowerPoint 2010 slide that contains a background picture.
    • You change the Shape.Fill property of the shape to msoFillBackground by using the Fill.Background() method. Therefore, the shape is filled with the section of the background picture that it overlaps.
    • You set the Fill.Visible property to msoFalse, and then you set the Fill.Visible property to msoTrue.
    In this scenario, the shape is filled with a static picture instead of a dynamic picture. Therefore, when you move the shape, the background picture that fills the shape is not changed.
  • When you search for a string in an Information Rights Management (IRM) read-only PowerPoint presentation, the string is not highlighted.
  • When you call the Shapes.Range method for a Chart object in PowerPoint 2010, you receive an error message that resembles the following:
    Run-time error '-2147467259 (80004005)':
    Method 'Range' of object 'Shapes' failed.

  • Assume that you enable the default file format policy and set it to .ppt. Then, you create a PowerPoint presentation in PowerPoint 2010 and save it as a .pptx file. In this scenario, when you send the .pptx file as an attachment in an email message, the .pptx file becomes a .ppt file unexpectedly.
  • 2597033 A comma is typed unexpectedly when you try to type a dot symbol in a text box or in a page note in a PowerPoint 2010 presentation
