The notification message does not display correctly on a telephone that is running Lync 2010 Phone Edition

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You connect a telephone that is running Microsoft Lync 2010 Phone Edition to a computer that is running Lync 2010 by using USB cable.
  • You lock both the telephone and the computer.
  • You receive an incoming video call or video conference call.
In this scenario, the telephone displays the following notification message:
Note: Answering the call will accept audio only
However, the expected message should be the following message:
Note: Answering the call will accept audio and video on your computer

Cause

This issue occurs because the telephone does not correctly verify that Lync 2010 Phone Edition is paired with Lync 2010. Lync 2010 Phone Edition displays the notification messages depending on whether Lync 2010 Phone Edition is paired with Lync 2010.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the following cumulative update:

For Polycom CX500, Polycom CX600 and Polycom CX3000 telephones:
