The EdgeTransport.exe process crashes occasionally after you install Update Rollup 2 for Exchange Server 2007 SP3

Symptoms

After you install Update Rollup 2 for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3 (SP3) on a computer, the EdgeTransport.exe process on the server crashes occasionally. Additionally, the following event is logged in the Application log:

Cause

This issue occurs because Exrpc32.dll does not verify a NULL buffer before it accesses the buffer when the message is delivered. Therefore, an access violation occurs in the�EdgeTransport.exe�process.

To resolve this issue, install the following update rollup:
