Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You type texts in a Microsoft Lync 2010 instant message conversation window.
  • You copy the texts before you send the message.
  • You paste the texts into an Office application, such as Microsoft Office Word 2010.
In this scenario, the texts in the Office application are cut off, or the Office application does not respond.

Additionally, you receive an event which resembles the following:

Cause

This issue occurs because Lync Server 2010 incorrectly calculates the offset for the end of the fragment in the CF_HTML clipboard format. However, the Office application processes the data from the fragment in the CF_HTML clipboard format instead of the whole HTML content. Therefore, the Office application does not respond when it processes the data.
