SVG files are opened as text after you uninstall Internet Explorer 9 from a computer that has Adobe SVG Viewer installed

Consider the following scenario. You have Windows Internet Explorer 9 installed on a computer together with Adobe SVG Viewer. You can open the SVG files in Internet Explorer 9 as expected. However, if you then uninstall Internet Explorer 9 and use Windows Internet Explorer 8 instead, SVG files will be opened as text in Internet Explorer 8.

To resolve this problem, uninstall and then reinstall Adobe SVG Viewer after you uninstall Internet Explorer 9.
