INTRODUCTION

Microsoft has released an update for the 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Microsoft OneNote 2010. This update provides the latest fixes for the 32-bit and 64-bit editions of OneNote 2010. Additionally, this update contains stability and performance improvements.

Issues that this update fixes

  • Assume that you insert a multipage .xps file into a notebook in Microsoft OneNote 2010. In this situation, words are positioned incorrectly on all pages except the first page. Additionally, when you search for a specific word in the file, an issue occurs in the highlighted search results.
     
  • OneNote 2010 crashes when you delete an .xps file that is being rendered.

To determine the version of the files that are installed on the computer, follow these steps, as appropriate for the operating system that you are running:
Windows 7
  1. Click Start, and then click Computer.
  2. In the Search Computer box, type Onmain.dll, and then press ENTER.
  3. Right-click Onmain.dll, and then click Properties.
  4. On the General tab, note the properties ofthe Onmain.dll file that is installed on the computer.
Windows Vista
  1. Click StartStart Button , and then click Search.
  2. Click Advanced Search.
  3. In the Location box, click Local Hard Drives.
  4. In the Name box, type Onmain.dll, and then click Search.
  5. In the list of files, right-click Onmain.dll, and then click Properties.
  6. On the General tab, note the properties ofthe Onmain.dll file that is installed on the computer.
Windows XP
  1. Start Search Companion. To do this, click Start, and then click Search.


    Note If Windows Desktop Search starts, click Click here to use Search Companion.
  2. In the Search Results window, click All files and folders in the Search Companion pane.
  3. In the All or part of the file name box, type Onmain.dll, and then click Search.
  4. In the list of files, right-click Onmain.dll, and then click Properties.
  5. On the General tab and on the Version tab, note the properties of the Onmain.dll file that is installed on the computer.

How to uninstall this update

  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. Type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
  3. Use one of the following procedures, depending on the operating system that you are running:
    • Windows 7 and Windows Vista
      1. Click View installed updates.
      2. In the list of updates, locate and click update 2493983, and then click Uninstall.
    • Windows XP
      1. Click to select the Show updates check box.
      2. In the list of updates, locate and click update 2493983, and then click Remove.
