Issue that this update fixes

• Microsoft OneNote 2010 does not save notebooks automatically. Additionally, the page may scroll unexpectedly when you move the pointer outside the region of a page in OneNote 2010.
  
  Note The page may scroll unexpectedly even when you do not press any button on the pointing device.
• OneNote 2010 crashes when you open a section. This issue occurs after you apply the hotfix package that is described in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article 2288640.

How to determine whether the update is installed

This update contains files that have the versions that are listed in the following table.

To determine the version of the files that are installed on the computer, follow these steps, as appropriate for the operating system that you are running.

Windows 7

1. Click Start, and then click
   Computer.
2. In the Search Computer box, typeOnmain.dll, and then press ENTER.
3. Right-click Onmain.dll, and then click
   Properties.
4. On the General tab, note the properties of the Onmain.dll file that is installed on the computer.

 

Windows Vista

1. Click Start, and then click Search.
2. Click Advanced Search.
3. In the Location box, click Local Hard Drives.
4. In the Name box, type
   Onmain.dll, and then click
   Search.
5. In the list of files, right-click
   Onmain.dll, and then click
   Properties.
6. On the General tab, note the properties of the Onmain.dll file that is installed on the computer.

Windows XP

1. Start Search Companion. To do this, click
   Start, and then click Search.
   
   Note If Windows Desktop Search starts, click Click here to use Search Companion.
2. In the Search Results window, click All files and folders in the Search Companion pane.
3. In the All or part of the file name box, type Onmain.dll, and then click Search.
4. In the list of files, right-click
   Onmain.dll, and then click
   Properties.
5. On the General tab and on the
   Version tab, note the properties of the Outlfltr.dat file that is installed on the computer.

How to uninstall this update

1. Click Start, and then click
   Run.
2. Type appwiz.cpl, and then click
   OK.
3. Use one of the following procedures, depending on the operating system that you are running:
   • Windows 7 and Windows Vista
     1. Click View installed updates.
     2. In the list of updates, locate and click update 2433299, and then click Uninstall.
   • Windows XP
     1. Click to select the Show updates
        check box.
     2. In the list of updates, locate and click update 2433299, and then click Remove.
